2016 Vacation Bible School at First United Methodist Church

July 25-29, 2016 – 9:00am to 12:00pm

All children from age 3 through 6th grade are invited to attend!

This year’s theme is SURF SHACK: Catch the Wave of God’s Amazing Love. The program is an interactive, energizing, Bible-based curriculum that gives children the chance to become Surfers and  explore how to serve God and experience God’s amazing presence in their lives.

VBSSurf’s up! Join the children of Apostle Presbyterian, First United Methodist, and Mount Hope Lutheran as they encounter God’s awesomeness as they experience an epic adventure each day.

The Surf Shack is a fun program that is sure to get everyone excited about God’s mission in their lives. Registration will open mid- June. Check with the church office for a registration form.

Each day we will hear and participate in Bible storytelling,  make fun crafts, play games, and share what we are learning as we sing energetic music with easy hand motions. There will also be a discovery time when children will  experience  engaging science  experiments.  And of course, children will enjoy a  daily snack.  Nursery care will also be provided.

Each family who registers will receive a free music CD of all of the beach themed music! This year there is also a free Surf Shack app.

The mission project will be the PAL Program at the Wisconsin Humane Society and we ask that all of our VBS kids bring some change each day that will be collected during the opening session for the mission project.  We will have special speakers and a surprise guest for the mission project.

On Thursday evening from 6:30pm – 7:30pm, the  children will present a VBS program with word and song. Afterward, all will enjoy an ice cream treat. And on Friday the wonderful week of new friends and learning will end with a hot dog lunch.

Come to the Surf Shack (First United Methodist Church, 7520 West Lapham Street) for an ocean of excitement! The Surfers and Lifeguards will glide through the week on an amazing fun-filled wave.

What Does the Bible Say?

2nd Monday of the Month – Fireside Room
Did you ever read something in the Bible and wonder what it really means? Are you longing to look more deeply into the Scripture? Then this is the group for you. We welcome you to join our on-going study in the New Testament book of 1st Peter. Where will we go after that? It could be an in-depth look at another book of the Bible, or it could be to explore a specific question about something in the Bible you’ve wondered about. You decide!

What we discover may surprise you, so grab your Bible and come join us! We meet on the 2nd Monday of each month though next May 2016.
